Abilicorp Personal Advisors

Abilicorp is committed to ensuring that every Associate receives the Support Services they need to perform outstanding jobs and expand their careers. Personal Advisors are integral to this success. Personal Advisors are mentors – people who truly enjoy helping others become successful. Each Associate will be matched with a Personal Advisor.

To be a Personal Advisor one must:

  • be a great communicator
  • know when and how to praise
  • know when and how to offer constructive criticism
  • know when and where to refer Associates for further assistance
  • be able to make adjustments when necessary
  • possess good networking and problem-solving skills
  • assist Associates with various employment matters (e.g. office politics, training, personal and professional time management, etc.)

Personal Advisors will receive a monthly stipend for their work with Abilicorp. The stipend will be equal to an agreed upon percentage of the wages made by the Associate(s) he/she advises. It is anticipated that Associates will need more assistance from Personal Advisors when first hired, but that this need will decrease as comfort levels increase and their careers progress. Every Associate/Personal Advisor relationship will be evaluated and renegotiated semi-annually.

Personal Advisors are recruited from different groups of people in various lines of work. They may be business professionals, college students, teachers, rehabilitation counselors, retirees, community leaders, Abilicorp staff members, or even Abilicorp Associates who wish to be elevated to Personal Advisor status. Some individuals will work as full-time Personal Advisors, working with as many as 15 Associates, while other Personal Advisors will choose to work with fewer Associates in addition to their regular careers.
